Description: Responsible for design, analysis, testing, installation and support activities required for Reid Physician Associates (RPA) clinical information systems solutions that are developed or acquired as a part of the overall Hospital network of integrated computer systems. Primarily, the system will be the electronic medical record functionality of NextGen with interfaces to Hospital systems. At this level, the incumbent is expected to be competent with currently available software and equipment technology, especially within the healthcare industry, particularly physician-office software. Must be able to provide assistance and consultation to the RPA offices, particularly the providers, nurses and other clinical functions while serving as technical coordinator between RPA, Hospital departments, and outside vendors. The Analyst will also interact with Hospital clinical departments to manage NextGen interfaces with Hospital clinical applications. Applies principles of the C.A.R.E. program in all activities and relationships. This is a Salaried position.

Requirements: Must have a thorough understanding of current Information Systems technology and a good working knowledge of recent developments in clinical software systems. Must be able to gather and document clinical and information systems requirements for RPA departments and provide the formal analysis and design for recommended solutions. Must be able to demonstrate, through testing or explanation, the skills and knowledge required to serve as a Project Leader for the development and/or installation of new clinical computer systems and software applications. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and meet project timelines with specified deliverables. Must be conscientious, accurate and capable of reacting logically to unusual or stressful situations and exercising good judgment skills. Must successfully complete the Reid Hospital orientation and achieve competency based skills appropriate for the position. Individual performance and competency based skills are maintained through ongoing assessment of competence and educational activities. Written evaluations are completed annually.Must have at least two years of physician office clinical experience preferably as a Licensed Practical or Registered Nurse and preferably with some supervisory experience.Must have at least two years experience working with clinical information systems preferably a physician office electronic medical record. Must demonstrate interest in continuing education and development in the area of clinical information systems.
