Registry - This position is not guaranteed any set amount of hours, but is used on an 'as needed' basis. Candidate could be scheduled some hours during the week in addition to call-ins, vacations, etc.
Description: The Physical Therapy evaluates each patient and provides medically prescribed treatments and education to patients to restore, improve, or maintain the patient's optimal level of functioning, independence, and quality of life. The Physical Therapist also supervises Physical Therapist Assistants in carrying out the prescribed treatment plan.
This is a Registry position. Candidate must be available to work on an as needed basis. (2 positions)
Requirements: Must be fully licensed in Indiana to practice as a Physical Therapist. May work with a Temporary Permit under the stipulated supervision of a PT in accordance with Indiana regulations.
Additionally, if assigned to provide services in Ohio, the PT is required to hold a current license in that state.
BS or MS Degree or Certification in Physical Therapy or a Bachelor's degree with Certification in Physical Therapy from an ACTA (accredited educational program).
Experience, None required. Preference may be given to individuals with advanced clinical skill experience or expertise.
The PT must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients assigned, demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in department policies and procedures.
Successful completion of Reid Hospital general orientation, position-specific orientation skills checklist, and competency inventory required before working independently. Individual performance and competency-based skills are maintained through ongoing assessment of competence and educational activities. Written performance appraisals are completed at least annually.
