Registry - This position is not guaranteed any set amount of hours, but is used on an 'as needed' basis. Candidate could be scheduled some hours during the week in addition to call-ins, vacations, etc.
Description: Works under general direction of the Director of Engineering Works under direct supervision of Grounds Supervisor Frequent contacts with hospital personnel, patients, and visitors for purpose of exchanging information. Maintenance (including seeding, planting, sodding, fertilization, irrigation or renovation) of lawns, parkways, etc. on all hospital owned properties. Mowing, spraying and application of chemicals or other control of grass and vegetation within the improved areas of the main hospital complex and on satellite hospital owned properties as scheduled. Removal of such debris as rocks; wire, lumber, and other trash that interferes with gross mowing or other operations essential to the maintenance of a ground cover. Removes vegetation debris from various air intakes, passageways, etc. as necessary. Planting, fertilization, watering, pruning, and spraying of trees, shrubs, vines and ornamental plants around all hospital owned properties on a specified or scheduled basis. Maintenance of power equipment used for ground maintenance. Maintenance of paved areas designated or intended to be used as parking lots, driveways or aprons. Maintenance of feature incidental to parking, such as under drains, curbs, gutters, guard rails, catch basins and sidewalks. Snow and ice removal. Signs and markings. Has knowledge of and participates in QA and AQ&I activities. Assists other personnel in hospital as requested. Serves as member of Code Green and other teams as needed. Assist all emergencies as required. Moves equipment, materials, furniture, and supplies to variety of locations as assigned. Candidate will work as needed and must be available for all three shifts.
Requirements: Proof of experience in lawn care maintenance and operating commercial power equipment. Must posses and maintain a valid drivers license. Repetitive lifting of 80lb bags of fertilizer and salt and lifting of other materials of this weight is required. Candidates must demonstrate this ability. Successful completion of Reid Hospital orientation and competency based skills appropriate for the job. Individual performance and competency based skills are maintained through on-going assessment of competence and educational activities. Written evaluations are done on an annual basis.
Pay Range: $10.86-$12.37
