Description: The Environmental Service Team Member assumes the responsibility of performing a variety of cleaning, custodial, and service duties in order to maintain sanitary and orderly conditions throughout the hospital. The C.A.R.E. principles are to be utilized consistently in performing all duties, responsibilities, and interactions. Candidate will work as needed between the hours of 3pm-10pm.
Requirements: Very physical position. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push 400 to 500 pounds. Must be able to read and write. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Demonstrates competency in the skills detailed in the areas of responsibility of this job description. Physically fit. Moderate physical effort is required such as lifting, transporting equipment, climbing ladders, and moving furniture. Demonstrates courtesy, attitude, respect and enthusiasm (C.A.R.E.) in all interactions. Selects cleaning materials and supplies and prepares solutions according to procedures. Stocks cleaning cart and transports to work area. Operates various types of equipment both manual and electrical, such as buffer, extractor, sweepers, scrubbers, wringers, etc. Cleans equipment and notifies supervisor of equipment needing repair. Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops and community affairs. Notifies Environmental Service office as to the need for replacing soiled or damaged drapes and cubicle curtains. Removes and replaces soiled or damaged drapes and cubicle curtains. Cleans and dusts furniture, washes walls, woodwork and windows. Dusts, mops, scrubs and finishes floors. Vacuums carpeted areas using a variety of vacuum cleaners. Shampoos and hot water extracts carpet. Replenishes supplies of soap, toilet paper, towels and linen. Collects trash and waste, including human tissue and body organs and transports to disposal area. Disinfects areas by scrubbing, mopping, or washing with special disinfectant solutions. Maintains a neat, organized work area with the approved amount of supplies. Reports all patient complaints or concerns to supervisors. Performs other related duties as required. Contributes to the teaching of personnel orienting to the department in cooperation with other health team members. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and adherence to organizational and departmental policies. Age, cultural, religious and spiritual diversities will be observed in accordance with patient plan of care.
Pay Range: $10.39-$11.93
