Position Title: CD Counselor
Department: Chemical Dependency

Status: Registry - This position is not guaranteed any set amount of hours, but is used on an 'as needed' basis. Candidate could be scheduled some hours during the week in addition to call-ins, vacations, etc.

Description: Responsible for implementation of Chemical Dependency treatment program and counseling for Chemical Dependency clients and families. Interacts with other departments and agencies to benefit program and clients. Manages assigned cases in continuum of care to see that the client's needs are assessed and treated and that this process is documented. Provides interdisciplinary coordination of services. This is a Registry position. Candidate will work on an as needed basis.

Requirements: A bachelors degree in a mental health field or state addiction certification is required, a masters in a mental health field is preferred. Experience in the field of chemical dependency treatment is preferred. If recovering alcohol or chemically dependent individual, a degree of recovery equivalent to two years continuous recovery is required. Demonstrated investment to professional and personal growth is required. Must demonstrate the following personal characteristics: Able to interact with tact, maturity, and good judgement with persons who are mentally, physically, or emotionally impaired. Able to assess and work with clients' emotional needs. Able to adapt to daily changes in routine, scheduling as needed. Able to interact and communicate professionally with a range of people. Manages work habits in professional, responsible manner, and achieves a reasonable level of productivity. Successful completion of Reid Hospital orientation and competency based skill appropriate for the job. Individual performance and competency based skills are maintained through ongoing assessment of competence and educational activities. Written evaluations are done on an annual basis.

Pay Range: $16.10-$21.98
