Description: Interviews patients to explain cost associated with procedures performed by the physician or other staff under the direction of the physician. Explains hospital's payment policy for elective procedures. Assures the payment policy is followed prior to services being rendered. Verifies and pre certifies procedures covered by a patients insurance. Responsible for front desk duties as assigned. They will also demonstrate Reid Hospital's C.A.R.E. principles in interactions with those they are privileged to serve and those they serve with. This includes consideration for age, cultural, and religious needs and/or barriers. Candidate will work 8:30am-5:00pm.
Requirements: Knowledge of medical reimbursement required.
Previous experience in physician l billing and collection.
Must have good clerical skills including typing, data entry and calculator operation.
Must be able to make independent decisions to solve problems.
Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must be able to work accurately with numbers.
Successful completion of Reid Hospital orientation and competency based skills appropriate for the job. Written evaluations are done on annual basis.
Pay Range: $11.32-$13.00
